Frequently Asked Questions
I already had basic facial ultrasound training somewhere else, can I participate in the Needle Guidance and Complication Management Course?
No, the Foundation Course is required, because the Needle Guidance & Complication Management Course builds on the specific scanning roadmaps taught there.
Will I be injecting live patients?
No. All needle-guidance and dissolution practice is performed on a variety of tissue-simulation models, chosen to replicate how different tissue planes and structures appear on ultrasound.
Do I need to bring my own ultrasound device?
No. Multiple handheld and cart-based systems will be provided for you to test during the hands-on day. You're welcome to bring your own device as well if you'd like to practice on it specifically.
What should I wear or bring to the hands-on day?
Scrubs or comfortable clothing you don't mind getting ultrasound gel on.
Is there CME credit for this course?
We expect CME credit will be available upon completion (currently seeking joint certification for Physicians, NPs, PAs and RNs)
Will I receive a certificate of completion?
Yes, a certificate of participation for the course will be provided.
The Needle Guidance & Complication Management Course is where scanning becomes clinical action. It's as much a complication management course as an ultrasound course. Building directly on the Foundation Course, you'll sharpen your Doppler technique, develop real-time needle guidance, and learn to assess and treat the complications you're most likely to face, guided by what you see on ultrasound.
